Because of the voracious appetite
of Pixie Frogs it is important not to feed them too many fatty
foods. Rodents fall into this category, and although Pixie
Frogs tend to like eating them, they can cause your frog to
gain weight. Furthermore, take great care when feeding them
as they will bite your hand if they suspect it contains food.
Likewise, exercise caution when attempting to handle them.
A clean bowl of water should be provided at all times as
Pixie Frogs like to soak in it. Consequently, it will be necessary
to change the water daily. |
Temperature,
Lighting & Humidity |
80 degrees F is a good temperature
to keep the habitat at during the day. At night the temperature
can be lowered 5 to 10 degrees F.
Relatively high humidity should be provided for Pixie Frogs.
A humidity level of approximately 80% is best. |
Pixie Frogs have no special housing
requirements. It is highly recommened that each Pixie Frog
has its own enclosure. They can be very aggresive and will
eat any animal that can fit in its mouth. |
