Provide your Fire-Bellied
Toads with a wide variety of insects. You can use gut-loaded
crickets, mealworms, butterworms, and small silkworms. Feed
them every other day. When feeding, place the food on the
dry side of the tank, and remove all food debris from the
tank after feeding. Always keep the water in the tank clean,
using a water filter. |
Provide a 20 degree gradient
ranging from 65 degrees F to 85 degrees F. Use an incandescent
bulb for light. You can use flourescent lighting as well,
but you still have to provide the heat source. |
Fire-Bellied Toads do
not need much space. A 10 Gallon aquarium tank is a good size.
Provide several different areas, including; a dry land spot,
a moist land spot (moist soil, peat moss, etc), and still
water. Give your Fire-Bellied Toads lots of places to hide. |
