The Nebelung cat is classfied
as a longhair although its hair is considerably shorter than
most other breeds in this category. Their tail is shorter
than most but is very dense and bushy. The coloring of their
eyes changes from blue when they are a kitten to yellow and
then finally to green. Most breeds of cats skip the middle
stage of coloration.
The Russian Blue cat is very similar in appearance to the
Nebelung and for a long time they were considered to be the
same breed. Nowadays most but not all cat federations recognize
them as seperate breeds.
